More Quartiere Tuscolano

Barn on the 6th (7th) floor. (top right of image) - Not actually a barn of course.

I thought the single line parking in the middle of the street was interesting, Joy said that this happens in parts of Virginia too.

Detail of the building-with-restricted-shutters (see Joe's post). Every "pilaster" is skewed in this way.

Yay accessibility! Elevator shaft appears to have been added after the building's construction... I think it fits in quite nicely though.

Some more pictures of this very beautiful project. It is nice to see a success story in an utopian residential scheme. Nice use of the panoramatic park after a dark "entrance vestibule". Note the abundance of greenery - there actually weren't that many people out and about when we were there but potted plants mean that someone with a lot of love must be keeping them alive.

City-esque "streets" within a microcosm. Note the importance of seeing the sky. It wouldn't be quite as street like without the sky. Also interesting are the transverse streets implied by the roofed over portions of the "streets": many of us walked down the paths expecting to find similar but perpendicular passages only to be greeted with the front doors of people's residences.
